zentraedi_shep: Case File #060530 - DEEP DARK SECRETS

Julian Vermeer took a last sip of his coffee. As always he had watched the person in the interrogation room for a few moments before joining him. He threw away the plastic cup and knocked before entering, without waiting for a answer.

"Hello, Mr -" he checked his file though he know the name - "Rozhenkow. My name is Julian Vermeer and I have to ask you a few questions, if you don't mind."
He sat down and nodded friendly at the elderly man.
"I take it you found her, while driving by?"

"Oh, good morning, officer. Well, yes. I first thought it was a manequin, you know, those puppets from the department stores, but then I saw the girl's breasts. You see, what could be seen of them. I steered my freighter to the bank and took a closer look, then I called the police. She looked so young, what a shame."

The old man shakes his head. The victim seems not to be the first dead body he has seen, but she was most possibly the youngest...

Julian nods and writes something down.
"Did something caught your eye? I mean apart from the victim... did you noice anything or anybody?"

"No, Sir, I'm sorry. There was noone. You see, I was in two wars in my time, I've seen a lot of dead, but it is something else, when you thought that such sights lie behind you. I became a riverboat pilot, when I came back from Nam. I wanted a peaceful life, free of the hurries and rushings on the streets."
The man rubs his eyes.
"You will find her killer, won't you?"

"We will of course do our very best, Sir. I don't think there is anything I need to know right now, but it might be that me or my colleagues will have a few more questions later on." Julian takes out on of his calling cards and hands it to Mr Rozhenkow. "If anything comes to your mind, and may it be seemingly of no importance, please feel free to call me at anytime."
He gets up and shakes Mr Rozhenkow's hand. "Thank you very much for your time."

The old man gets up and leaves the room. As soon as he's out, a police officer enters the room. "Sir, we just got a call from the crime scene. There seems to be a connection between the vic and the Hotel Virtual. Detective Kirkwood wants you to head over to help him with asking the witnesses."

(The location will be put up as a seperate thread in the crime scene post.)
